Sex and the City

Monday, June 02, 2008 the start of finals week here at OSU and after a long weekend of studying sociological theories and globalization, I needed a really strong cup of coffee to kick off finals week. My cup of coffee came in the form of a afternoon showing of Sex and the City, The Movie! On a scale of one to ten, I give the movie a 9.5. Because I really wanted to see Samantha do it with her gorgeous piece of eye candy neighbor in LA. And there were one or two slightly boring scenes (just a little too much talking) that would be acceptable in the show, but not in the movie. Oh the attires! Carrie's style is my favorite and I have a little bit of Carrie in me. But I live in Columbus Ohio and this city (I use this term very loosely) just can't handle that much excitement, spice, labels, and so forth.

All though each gal depicts empowerment to women in their own unique manner there were some situations that were degrading to women such as, Samantha's minuscule gut (can you even call it that), Carrie being demanding in regard to the wedding arrangements. However, the show and the movie both possess so much confidence that you just want to say 'f' that and move to New York. When Big tries to apologize to Carrie in the street outside the library, Charlotte grabs Carrie into her arms with her finger pointed at Big and says (says is totally not the right term, but I'm speechless) NO, NO, oh my gosh her dramatic performance brought tears to my eyes. She really deserves her own child for that.

Similar to the episodes I would watch the movie over and over.  Some random things I feel after watching the movie. Men are awesome, but girlfriends are necessary. I don't feel even a little guilty for buying coach boots. Sarah Jessica Parker is beautiful. Miranda kinda pisses me off.  What was up with the peacock bird thing in Carrie's hair on the wedding day? There are many other things, but then I would have to make this blog private and raise the red flag.
